Queensland star Harry Grant has hit the open market and the hooker is exploring all options, including a departure from the Melbourne Storm.
Multiple clubs have been linked with the 28-year-old, including sides from Queensland. Those include Brisbane Broncos and the Gold Coast Titans.
But the Queensland duo face competition in the form of the Manly Sea Eagles, who are reportedly prepared to blow the race wide open for Grant.
Manly are going to make a ‘massive play’ for the Storm’s skipper, according to Nine’s The Mole.
Grant did have a player option to extend with the Storm until the end of 2028, but he has not activated the additional year in his contract, resulting in a growing chance of him leaving Melbourne at the end of 2027.
On the situation, Brent Read told NRL 360: “As every day goes by, I think Melbourne get more and more nervous about Harry Grant leaving at the end of next year.”
The Titans are also preparing to offer Grant a bumper contract to challenge interested parties, with New South Wales’ Newcastle Knights also keeping a close eye on his situation.
Talks surrounding the star’s future will not go away until his contract for 2028 is confirmed. With the World Cup ongoing, the competition has naturally put Grant’s contract discussions on hold, as he focuses on the tournament with the Kangaroos.
