Manly have received a major boost for their future, while the Eels and Warriors face tough decisions in the coming weeks.
Huge Manly boost
The brothers are set to remain with the team until at least the end of 2029, having both impressed in the Sea Eagles’ junior ranks.
Manly value the duo very highly for their long-term success, and see the brothers in their spine in the coming years.
Ashton took home the Jake Trbojevic Award for Junior Male Player of the Year for 2026, while his older brother, Onitoni, won the Best Back of the Year award for Manly’s under-19s.
Eels contract shock
Parramatta Eels head coach Jason Ryles has a secret clause in his contract that would allow him to be a free agent following next season.
While the club announced the head coach had penned a four-year deal, only the first three are guaranteed.
According to News Corp, the fourth and final year depends on performance-based results the club has outlined.
The objectives have not been revealed, but strong links report his final year will be activated if the team reaches the Finals in the first two seasons.
But the club are pleased with Ryles at the helm, as their chairman, Matthew Beach, said: “We haven’t extended Jason, but we’re very happy with Jason.”
Warriors exit close
The Warriors have given dummy-half Samuel Healey permission to evaluate his options post-2027.
The news comes with November 1 just weeks away, when off-contract players will explore their options with rival clubs.
According to Code Sports, the Warriors will not release him ahead of next year, and Healey will complete his full three-year spell in Auckland.
The club faces a tough salary-cap squeeze, and the hooker’s exit will be seen as a way to free up cash for the future.
