Tanah Boyd has spent much of the 2026 season on the sidelines after an ACL injury against the Broncos.

The 26-year-old played in all of the New Zealand Warriors’ first nine NRL games of the campaign, but when he returned to the team for round 11, he suffered an ACL injury. This ended Boyd’s season, who has watched the Wahs go from strength to strength in each game of 2026.

He recently sat down with Warriors legend Shaun Johnson to discuss all things footy. The NRL finals are getting closer, and the Wahs seem to be getting stronger week after week. Boyd discussed what has made this current team so special.

Boyd said: “I think the club is at a stage where we have a great mix of players. We’ve got the young blokes that are unbelievable, we’ve got the middle-aged, and then the older experienced ones.”

“I think that’s been the hardest bit for me this year, sitting on the sides, the fear of missing out, but I know we’re not far off, and it’s something I definitely want to be a part of.”

The halfback also spoke about his rehab and gave some wise words for people in a similar position.

He added: “I’m going through a stage where controlling what I can control is important. There’s no point looking ahead. What’s happened has happened, and being where your feet are now is the most important.”

“If you’re going through something bad or something lengthy, just being present is important.”
