The New Zealand Warriors have poured cold water on speculation linking Nathan Cleary with a move to Auckland.

Warriors CEO Cameron George addressed the rumours during an interview with Sport Nation’s Scotty & Izzy, making it clear the club is not currently talking to the Penrith superstar.

Asked directly if the Nathan Cleary rumours were real, George was emphatic.

“No, absolutely not from our end. There’s been no discussion at all around Nathan,” George said.

“I find it quite amusing when I read all these headlines and rumours and so on. But respectfully to Nathan, that’s not on our radar.”

The 28-year-old is contracted to Penrith through the end of 2027, but his future has been a talking point after the Panthers’ season ended in the preliminary final.

Cleary had also previously been linked with the Warriors because of his family’s connection to the club.

His younger brother Jett joined the Warriors in 2025 but has since been granted an early release from the final year of his contract.

Jett will leave Auckland at the end of this season and return to Penrith, where he is set to reunite with Nathan and father Ivan.

That move had added another layer to the speculation around Nathan, particularly with Ivan set to coach the Panthers for one final season in 2027.

However, George’s comments suggest the Warriors are not currently preparing a move for the star halfback.

For now, George has made the club’s position clear: there is no conversation between the Warriors and Nathan Cleary.
