The Dolphins, Panthers and Storm have all been dealt major blows in recent days, as November 1 quickly approaches.
Clubs from across the NRL are working on numerous deals to lock down their players before the open market, while also working on potential signings for 2028.
Dolphins blow
The Dolphins’ Jack Bostock is on the radar of the 2026 wooden spooners, the Dragons, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. The club are willing to pay big money for the off-contract 23-year-old. He has recently commented on his future and has hinted that he will not be signed come the start of next month.
“Obviously being in here [Kangaroos camp] doesn’t help the cause, but my manager’s on to it all, so whatever happens we’ll finalise soon.
“It’s not been the easiest road to sort of get there, but it’s in the works.”
Both the club and player are eager to extend Bostock, but with rival clubs interested, he could be tempted by a better offer elsewhere.
Panthers blow
Penrith Panthers’ lock Isaah Yeo’s contract talks have stalled. While the star man has agreed to a three-year deal, the NRL’s salary cap auditor has reportedly paused Yeo’s contract from being officially approved, according to Code Sports.
Yeo is expected to step into a role at the club following his retirement, and with this, the NRL are carefully examining the deal put on the table for him.
With everything expected to be completed soon, the news will be warmly welcomed by Penrith fans. But the unnecessary stumbling block will bring frustration to the fanbase.
Storm blow
Melbourne Storm have been dealt a major blow in their chase to hold onto Cameron Munster. The off-contract star is eligible to hit the open market come November 1. He recently took part in a 9News interview, where he played down the chances of him moving to Sydney. But in the interview, he did not rule out leaving Melbourne, which will not be what fans wanted to hear.
His comments in the interview have given Broncos fans a big boost, as they hope the 32-year-old makes a return to Queensland.
