Broncos confirm deal
Brisbane Broncos have announced Peter O’Sullivan as their General Manager of Recruitment. The former Knights man has completed a move to Queensland, signing a five-year contract with the 2025 premiers, reportedly worth $2.5 million.
O’Sullivan helped transform the Dolphins roster for their first two seasons, and he also helped to guide the Knights to this year’s grand final.
He will hope his magic can bring in quality players and boost the Broncos’ ladder finish in 2027.
Sharks suffer blow
Cronulla Sharks have received a tough blow, as three of their players are set to test the open market. Will Kennedy, Briton Nikora and Teig Wilton are all expected to test the market from November 1 onwards.
Code Sports has reported the off-contract trio will speak to rivals next month, and they are not expected to remain at the club post-2027.
Kennedy has been linked with a move to the English Super League, while Nikora and Wilton’s futures remain undecided.
Munster wanted by new team
Cameron Munster will be one of the NRL’s biggest stars to hit the open market in just a couple of weeks. With clubs across the country wanting his services, there has been a new development in where he could end up.
2027 newcomers, Perth Bears, are weighing up a potential move for the 32-year-old.
Although the Bears have previously missed out on signing the five-eighth, they have rejuvenated their interest in someone who was reportedly interested in a move to Perth at one stage.
With Melbourne’s tight salary cap, they unfortunately cannot offer Munster what he feels he deserves, resulting in him hitting the open market.
Brent Read said: “They can sign a big-name player… I spoke to someone there yesterday, and they said they have money.
“Perth need players for 2028; they need big names, and he is a big name.”
