Canberra Raiders have received a major boost regarding one of their young guns.
Ethan Sanders is set to agree a new deal with the club.
The 22-year-old is in line to pen a new one-year deal with Canberra after a breakout campaign for the side.
The exciting halfback’s extension is reportedly a done deal according to News Corp, but the Raiders have not confirmed any news yet.
He made 23 first-grade appearances in total across the year, and has earned himself an extension.
This will see him remain contracted in the Capital until the end of the 2028 campaign.
Despite Canberra’s disappointing year overall, the side did have a bright spark, courtesy of Sanders.
The shining star for the Raiders was hopeful of penning a new contract with the club, ultimately taking him off the market for November 1.
The 22-year-old debuted in the Origin series this season, featuring for New South Wales as they went on to win.
But Sanders will face competition from Coby Black, who made an outstanding impression in the final round of the season.
The pair are both contracted to the side until the end of 2028, and they will battle it out for the long-term spot in Ricky Stuart’s side as the main playmaker.
