Following the NRL Grand Final on Sunday, transfer season is set to descend on the league, with November 1 less than four weeks away.

Huge Knights exit

Newcastle Knights star Tyson Frizell will depart the club ahead of 2027 season, with the forward already available to speak to rival sides.

The Newcastle Herald previously reported that the Knights were looking to move on other players to retain the star, but that has not materialised.

Wests Tigers currently lead the way to sign the 34-year-old, who played in his first Grand Final at the weekend.

Eels signing

Spencer Leniu won his fourth Premiership ring at the weekend as the Roosters beat the Knights. The 26-year-old was tipped to be joining PNG Chiefs for 2028, but a move failed to materialise.

With this, Parramatta Eels entered the fray and are set to confirm the signing of the Rooster.

While News Corp reports the move is complete, both clubs agreed not to announce the transfer before the end of the campaign to cause any disruptions.

Roosters deal

Sydney Roosters’ week is set to be made even better, with the club ready to announce that Salesi Foketi has penned a long-term deal with the side.

Foketi’s new three-year deal will see him locked down until the end of the decade, after breaking into the Sydney side.

The 22-year-old played the entire Grand Final and has been a huge addition for the tri-colours since coming into the team.

The second rower will be looked down with the Roosters for the next three years, and that news will be warmly welcomed by the premiers.
