Reece Walsh has discussed all things World Cup with Triple M, as the Kangaroos begin their competition in the coming days.

The fullback sat down and spoke about the exciting weeks ahead for him and Australia, ahead of the Rugby League World Cup.

On representing the Kangaroos at the World Cup, Walsh said: “I’m feeling very honoured to be back in this jersey, and It’s a great feeling. I’m really looking forward to it.”

His head coach for the competition is former Broncos coach Kevin Walters, who will link up with Walsh once again.

On the connection he has with Kevvie, Walsh said: “Oh, I love it. Every time I get to rub shoulders with him and be around him, it gives me butterflies every time.

“He’s got a very infectious personality. He makes everyone have a laugh and brings everyone together. He’s definitely a great guy.”

The competition for the fullback jersey will be tough for the Broncos star, with James Tedesco proving a huge competitor for the shirt. The battle will be exciting for fans to see who comes out on top, and the Broncos star gave his opinion on the matter.

“It’s nerve-racking. But why can’t we have myself and James Tedesco running around?”

Walsh is willing to play across the field for his country, saying, “Front rower, lock, six, hooker, wherever you need me, I’ll play,” he said, laughing.

He also previewed the Kangaroos’ opening World Cup match against the Kiwis and spoke on the exciting rugby league rivalry.

“It’s pretty special. I have Kiwi in me, my mum’s from New Zealand, so for myself, knowing I’m half and half it’s special, but my love is with Aussie and to represent the Kangaroos against the Kiwis is amazing.”
