Latest NRL news and rumours involving Sydney Roosters, Newcastle Knights and Canberra Raiders.

Roosters exit admission

Sydney Roosters star Victor Radley admits he wants to finish his career in the Super League.

Radley helped the Roosters win the NRL Premiership earlier this month, but to end his career in England, with the lock representing the nation at the upcoming Rugby League World Cup.

“Yep, for sure,” he told Triple M when asked about switching to England. “I don’t think it’s yet, but it’s something I have wanted to do since I was young.

“To be honest, it wasn’t to play in the Super League. I was just keen to do a one-year working visa as a carpenter, so I was excited to go see other parts of the world, and I still am.”

Radley is off contract at the end of the 2027 season, but is highly likely to remain in the NRL on his next contract, with England likely a focus for much later in the 28-year-old’s career.

Knights contract

Newcastle Knights head coach Justin Holbrook has earned himself a new contract with the club.

Holbrook guided the Knights to the Grand Final, a year on from the wooden spoon.

His contract was previously set to expire at the end of the 2028 campaign, but now another two years have been added.

Raiders departure

Canberra Raiders head coach Ricky Stuart has confirmed Tom Starling’s departure.

Starling has been granted an early release from his contract, which was originally set to expire at the end of next season.

The 28-year-old will now take up an opportunity with St Helens in the Super League.
