The Brisbane Broncos will have a new look side in 2027, with several big changes to their squad.

Payne Haas and Adam Reynolds are gone, but Brisbane have added plenty of experience and quality as they look to bounce back next season.

Here is how their strongest team could look.

1. Reece Walsh

Walsh remains the obvious choice at fullback and one of Brisbane’s biggest attacking weapons.

2. Deine Mariner

Mariner was named Brisbane’s best back in 2026 and should remain a key part of the side.

3. Kotoni Staggs

Staggs remains one of the first-choice centres and an important part of Brisbane’s backline.

4. Dane Gagai

Gagai will return to the Broncos on a one-year deal. The veteran has played more than 300 NRL games and gives Brisbane experience in the centres.

5. Josiah Karapani

Should be firmly in the mix for a wing spot after gaining more NRL experience in 2026.

6. Ezra Mam

Mam is contracted long-term and shapes as Brisbane’s first-choice five-eighth.

7. Jonah Pezet

This could be the biggest changes. Pezet joins Brisbane on a three-year deal and looks the leading candidate to replace Reynolds at halfback.

8. Mitch Barnett

Barnett joins from the Warriors on a three-year deal and brings toughness and experience to a pack minus Haas.

9. Billy Walters

Walters has re-signed through 2028 and will compete with Cory Paix and Blake Mozer for the hooking role.

10. Xavier Willison

With Haas leaving, Willison should take on an even bigger role after winning Brisbane’s Paul Morgan Medal in 2026.

11. Brendan Piakura

Could get first crack at a starting role and has the chance to make the position his own.

12. Jordan Riki

Riki remains an important part of Brisbane’s squad providing stability to a forward pack undergoing change.

13. Patrick Carrigan

Carrigan will again be the man in the middle of everything at lock.

Bench:

14. Ben Hunt – experience and versatility make him an ideal option off the bench.

15. Shawn Blore – Storm recruit gives Brisbane another option in the middle or on an edge.

16. Va’a Semu – one of the Bronco’s most promising young forwards. Big season ahead.

17. Ben Talty – adds more size and depth. Will push for more opportunities next season.

18. Hayze Perham – could be the first man called up if injuries hit the outside backs.

19. Blake Mozer – provides another genuine dummy-half option.

It will be a different Broncos side but the arrivals of Pezet, Gagai, Barnett and Blore give them plenty of quality for a fresh start in 2027.
