NRL transfer season is ramping up, with November 1 just a couple of weeks away.
Bulldogs deal
Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have confirmed that young forward Alekolasimi Jones has signed a contract extension.
Jones played 11 times across the 2026 season, making his debut in Round 9. The bright talent has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at the club.
The 21-year-old has said: “I’m excited to have my future secured for another two years. I love everything about this club from the fans to the coaches and the connection all the boys have.”
Phil Gould is delighted with the contract extension, saying: “AJ is one of our brightest prospects coming through the pathways system here and we couldn’t be happier to lock him in until the end of 2029.”
Sharks complete two signings
Cronulla Sharks have completed two signings. The club has announced that twin brothers Grayson and Nikorima Wharakura have signed two-year contracts until the end of the 2028 season.
Their agent, Sports Vision Management, has confirmed the brothers’ moves. The Sharks have signed the duo from Queensland, who have played in the state since 2023, after leaving New Zealand.
Knights’ post-Best plan
Newcastle Knights have outlined their plan if Bradman Best does depart the club for 2028.
The Grand Final runners-up would like to bring in Jack Bostock if Best does not renew his contract with the Knights.
The Dolphins star is set to hit the open market in the coming weeks, although his priority would be to remain at the team.
Best’s contract talks have stumbled over recent weeks, with him and the club some gap away in terms of salary.
If a deal cannot be struck, then the Knights will not wait around to get in a replacement set-up.
