Tyson Frizell’s next club has been confirmed, after he departed Newcastle Knights following the Grand Final.

Wests Tigers have confirmed the signing of Frizell, who will bring a wealth of talent and experience to Benji Marshall’s side.

The 35-year-old featured in 25 games across the 2026 season for the Knights, helping the club reach the Grand Final.

The second rower played 40 minutes of the clash against the Roosters, as the Knights fell short.

The veteran has completed a move to the Tigers for 2027 and has spoken about the switch.

“I’m really looking forward to joining Wests Tigers for 2027,” he said.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for me at this stage of my career and I’m grateful for the chance to be part of what the club and Benji are building.”

Frizell will feature for Tonga at the World Cup, which gets underway in just a few days.

Following the tournament, he will link up with his new side and hope to help them climb up the ladder after a poor 2026 campaign.

Wests finished 15th on the ladder in what was a dismal year for the club.

The 35-year-old, who boasts over 300 games to his name, will be a major boost to the club.

On the signing, Marshall said: “Tyson is the most professional player I’ve ever seen when it comes to preparation.

“To play the amount of footy he has and still compete at the highest level of the game at his age is a credit to the way he prepares and goes about his business.”
