Brisbane Broncos are never too far away from transfer news and rumours, with another update coming on a player that is set to leave Suncorp Stadium.
There have been some major updates to player movement this year. The likes of Cory Paix, Tom Duffy and Ben Hunt were re-signed; Payne Haas and Jesse Arthars are leaving. Mitch Barnett will be swapped for Grant Anderson at the end of the year.
Billy Walters is reportedly about to sign his two-year contract extension offer, but what about the future of Blake Mozer?
The Broncos once viewed Mozer as the future of their nine position, but injuries have led to him falling behind the likes of Paix and Hunt, while Walters’ return to action has also pushed the 22-year-old further down the pecking order.
Journalist Brent Read has detailed how Mozer is set to leave Brisbane at the end of the year.
“It looks like he (Walters) will extend and it will have ramifications for young Blake Mozer who people declared was the next Cameron Smith,” Read told NRL360.
“Things haven’t gone well for Blake. He’s struggled with injury, and he might be on the move.”
While Mozer isn’t off contract until the end of 2027, it’s reported that he could be a potential buy-out candidate when he’s available to speak to rivals on November 1. This leaves the possibility that Moser will leave before next year.
