What Billy Walters just said after Broncos vs Dolphins

Billy Walters returned to the starting side for the Broncos in Saturday night’s defeat against the Dolphins.

Walters was one of the Broncos best players, as he thrived from dummy half and set the tone with an early 40/20.

That 40/20 pushed the momentum of the game the Broncos way and they had soon raced 24 points clear, only to be pegged back by their Brisbane rivals.

The second half belonged to the Dolphins as they secured the win late on to consign the Broncos to their 11th defeat in 12 games.

Speaking to Fox Sports after the game, Walters was understandably disappointed to have lost the game, despite a positive individual performance.

“Yeah, it’s a pretty ordinary feeling,” said Walters. ” We started well and were up 24-0, and it kind of sums up our year, we can’t defend our errors at the moment.

“We were against a very good team in the Dolphins. They are a very good attacking team and they made us pay.

“There are no excuses tonight, we were just no good. We gave them too much ball and they have great attacking players.

“It was just good to be back playing for the Broncos. I love this club and pulling on this jersey. This is a great round too, playing in front of a packed Suncorp Stadium, it does not get much better than that.

“It would have been nice to get the two points but it wasn’t to be. We have plenty to work on and hopefully we get a good turn out against the Wahs next week and get a win.”
