Herbie Farnworth has already told Broncos his stance

​Herbie Farnworth has taken his game to the next level since leaving Brisbane Broncos, and now the superstar centre is at a crossroads.

Farnworth is out of contract at the end of the 2027 season, with the Dolphins looking to tie down the 26-year-old for the longer term.

Code Sports have reported that the Dolphins are ‘in danger’ of losing Farnworth due to salary cap pressures, with the player set to test the market.

The English international can speak to rival clubs on November 1 if he hasn’t signed a new deal with the Dolphins by then.

Sydney Roosters have been heavily linked with a move for Farnworth, but a return to Suncorp Stadium has also been mooted.

Farnworth himself has made his feelings known about what he would like to do in the coming months.

“I am signed here for this year and next year. I have not had any thoughts on leaving,” said Farnworth.

He added: “I’m happy (here at the Dolphins). The links are just media talk. We haven’t spoken to anyone, and I certainly haven’t heard anything.

“We have got a really good run this year, and I don’t want anything like that to get in the way.

“I’m sure when contract talks do roll around, I will be speaking to the Dolphins first.”
