Herbie Farnworth looks set to test the market at the end of the season, and it could well lead to an NRL switch to the Sydney Roosters.
The 26-year-old has taken the NRL by storm these last few seasons and is arguably the best centre in the league.
Herbie Farnworth to Sydney Roosters news

Sydney Roosters head coach Trent Robinson.
Dolphins would love to keep the England international, but know they face an uphill battle to retain his services.
Farnworth is contracted to the Dolphins until the end of the 2027 NRL season, but the elusive back can speak to rival clubs if he does not sign a new deal before November 1, 2026.
The awareness of Farnworth’s availability is making clubs aplenty scramble, with reports suggesting that a ‘bidding war’ for his services could take place.
Code Sports report that the Sydney Roosters are at the front of the battle for Farnworth’s services, stating that ‘Farnworth is almost certain to test his value on the open market given his status as one of the best centres in the code’.
There are private concerns within the Dolphins that Farnworth has made his future intentions clear to the Roosters. Given contract laws prohibit speaking to players until the final year of their contract, this advanced reality is unlikely.
Herbie Farnworth has been incredible in 2026
The Dolphins are still worried, though, and it’s easy to see why given Farnworth’s form in 2026.
Farnworth is averaging an incredible 165m total run metres per game this year, while he also tops the NRL charts for tackle breaks and offloads. He is arguably one of the most dynamic centres the league has seen in the last decade.
Exactly where his future lies remains to be seen, but it’s almost certain that the Englishman will test the market in November.
