Sydney Roosters are expected to let one star go after their 2026 campaign ends.

The Roosters finished fourth on the ladder and will face Penrith Panthers at the weekend in the NRL Finals.

Two players are off-contract at the end of the season, Daniel Tupou and Tommy Talau.

Another player expected to depart is Spencer Leniu, with the club reportedly having a replacement lined up.

The prop has been linked with numerous clubs, with one being Parramatta Eels for the 2027 season.

The 26-year-old has a year left on his deal with the Roosters, but his time with them could be coming to an end.

CODE Sports reporter David Riccio said: “It (this finals series) could be contract-defining, and the Roosters would let him go if he doesn’t learn from that.”

The Daily Telegraph reports that the Roosters won’t stop him from joining the Eels at the end of their Finals campaign. This would see him link up with former Panthers Premiership teammate Jarome Luai, who is joining the Chiefs in 2028 after a year with Parramatta.

His on-field performances and his discipline have put his future with the club under pressure, and if he does not impress in the finals, it could be contract-defining with his current club.
